Bon Vivant London Review

There’s nothing better than good wine, good food and a good quality restaurant. So that’s why I decided to stop by elegant French bistro, Bon Vivant, for a taste of Paris in London.

Bon Vivant is a luxurious French restaurant located in Bloomsbury, with it’s dim lighting, plush seating, and stylish decor, the restaurants a romantic and luxurious atmosphere.

We decided to begin our dining experience with a cocktail each. I opted for the Dirty Pink, an interesting mix of Chambord Raspberry Liquor, Lemon Juice, Sugar Syrup, Egg White, whilst my guest went for the Bon Bon Fraise – the perfect cocktail for those with a sweet tooth being a blend of Vodka, Gin, Lime Juice, Strawberry Syrup, and Fresh Strawberries.

The menu offers of a variety of rich and indulgent French dishes, proving that Bon Vivant is the Crème de la crème of French restaurants in London.

My guest opted for the Faux Fillet Steak & Fries which came served with tomatoes and Café de Paris Butter, priced at a reasonable (£14.50). A very generous portion which was very succulent and tasty.

I went for the duck, an extremely indulgent dish which was very rich but full of flavour – one of the best duck dishes I’ve had. I handed my plate back completely clean making sure not a crumb was left.

In true Parisian style, we sat back and relaxed with a Kir Royale in hand. Bon Vivant, which translates as good living (which is exactly what we were doing),  adds a touch of French chic to Bloomsbury.

To end our evening, we indulged in Creme Brulee with vanilla rhum ragout (£6) – a decent dish with a rich, creamy texture infused with Earl Grey tea with a side of spiced pear. We also shared the Chocolate fondant with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream (£7.50), and in my opinion the best of the two, a dreamy dish oozing with chocolate sauce in the centre.
