We were invited along to check out London Designer Outlet in Wembley.
Having recently moved to the area so I had heard London Designer Outlet and had been keen to check it out. It’s just a bus ride from us so it was really easy to get to and meant we could get there for the 11am Sunday opening without it being too painful! (I’m definitely not an early riser!)
I’d completely forgotten it was Black Friday weekend so as you can imagine it was manic. The already reduced prices has been reduced even more! We joined the keen crowd arriving at 11am to be the first to grab the bargains. I wanted to get there as early as possible so we could make the most of everything there. London Designer Outlet isn’t just for shopping there is also a Cineworld, a huge variety of restaurants and for the Festive season, ice skating.
London Designer Outlet (LDO) is London’s only outlet centre and offers up to 70% off RRP’s all year round. There’s over 50 stores including H&M, Cowshed, Kurt Geiger, Levi’s, Jack Wills, Joy, Dr Marten and Next. Although the shops closed at 5pm on a Sunday Cineworld, Ice skating and the restaurants remained open much later.
We decided to start the day by going to Cineworld to finally see the new JK Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them’. Balancing a salted popcorn in one hand and a Tango ice blast in the other we made our way to Screen 7. The screen was huge and it was probably the most comfortable cinema I’ve been in and even the standard seats had so much leg room! (Enough for all of those shopping bags!)
After over 2 hours at Cineworld our stomachs were beginning to rumble (the salted popcorn was just not enough obviously) so we decided to go for lunch.
There’s a huge variety of restaurants such as Nandos, TGI Friday’s, Frankie & Benny’s, and Prezzo, just to name a few. You can see the full list here. I’ve eaten at every single one of these chains before and I will assume a lot of my readers have too. So I decided to have lunch at The Lost Rivers Kitchen and Bar, a place I’d never been to or heard of before.
Lost Rivers Bar & Kitchen serves traditional British food with a modern twist. They serve a selection of craft ales including their very own quality stout named Silk Stream, after the lost river which flows through Wembley. The venue is also well known for it’s live music. We popped along on a Sunday lunchtime to take advantage of their very reasonably priced 2-course lunch menu for £10.
Karl ordered the chicken and mushroom on toast and I must admit I did have a bit of food envy after seeing this. However my mac & cheese was absolutely incredible! I’m a huge cheese fanatic and this dish was so cheesy and creamy – just how mac & cheese should be. I may even go as far as to say it’s one of the best I’ve had, it was definitely the star of the show!
We even tried their famous scotch egg which has been approved by Nigella Lawson!

After lunch we left a bit of extra time to grab a few Christmas presents and take advantage of the bargains. With the Christmas music playing and the glittering lights around us, we started to get into the Christmas spirit for the first time this year.
I think Lindt was my favourite store and it’s where I spent the most money! LDO gave me a privilege card so I was even able to get an extra 10% off my purchase too.
In heaven at the Lindt Pick & Mix stand…
Then it was time for Ice Skating! The ice rink is situated in LDO right next to Wembley Stadium.
The ice rink is open until 2 January 2017. Shoppers who spend £50 or more at LDO (shops, restaurants and/or cinema) will receive two free tickets to the rink, worth up to £25. However off-peak tickets are just £5, peak tickets are £12.50 for adults and £7.50 for children, or free!
Seeing as our ice skating wasn’t quite up to scratch we decided to leave the camera in the lockers to prevent any unwanted accidents. We were able to get a few phone shots of me attempting to ice skate which you don’t want to see so here’s a lovely photo of London Designer Outlet and the ice rink…
LDO is located right next to Wembley Stadium station with Wembley Park a short walk away. Wembley Central station is also a short walk or bus ride away. 8 different bus routes link LDO with central London and the surrounding areas.
