Searching for the best Gastropub for Foodiez TV…
I’ve joined Foodiez TV, an online community of 50 food bloggers who share their favourite foodie finds across the UK. Foodiez TV is run by Andy Hayler and Andy’s first task was to find the best Gastropub and our choice was Parlour Kensal.
I’ve heard amazing things about Parlour and the fantastic Jesse Dunford Wood, owner and Head Chef. We went along for breakfast at 10am on a Sunday. We arrived just as the doors were opening and within the first 10 minutes Parlour was filling up fast. It had a great friendly atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming.
We devoured the Parlour breakfast (loved the pot the beans came in!) and a hash brown with a poached egg and of course we had a Bloody Mary to wash it all down (and help us recover from the night before…) I’m not much of a fan of Bloody Mary’s but this was by far the best I had ever tried!!
The Parlour breakfast includes free reign on the yesterday’s bread station. This area is amazing, there’s so many types of bread including gluten free and so many spreads to try. There was nutella, peanut butter and so many jams. We were spoilt for choice.
Parlour was lively but relaxed with families tucking into Sunday brunch. The decor in Parlour is so lovely and so quirky. I loved the teal coloured walls and the quirky ornaments everywhere. Parlour is a very fun and chilled place, we especially loved the coasters – can you spot the ‘bottoms up’ coaster next to the Bloody Mary?
There’s also an outdoor seating area for warmer days.
I’ve heard amazing things about the evening menu at Parlour, especially the chef’s table so I am sure I’ll be back soon.
Watch our video below with Foodiez TV on why we loved Parlour! Please note this is my first time ever in front of a camera, eeeek!
