8 Mount Street, Mayfair Review

8 Mount Street unveiled their new brunch menu on Valentine's Day so went to check it out.

8 Mount Street is located in the heart of Mayfair, just minutes from Berkeley Square and Park Lane.

It's the perfect location for a Sunday stroll, hidden amongst the some of most beautiful buildings in London. The area is quiet but is just a couple of minutes away from the hustle and bustle Piccadilly, Hyde Park and Oxford Street.

As we entered 8 Mount Street we were wowed by the luxurious interiors, solid marble bar and sleek light fixtures. It all looks very glamorous.

The new brunch menu, which is a permanent fixture to the restaurant, has been devised by Executive chef Adrian Mellor (The Waldorf Astoria Maldives). The menu includes a wonderful selection of tempting treats, it was so difficult to decide what to order! We sipped on pineapple Buck's Fizz as I changed my selection a number of times - there were just too many things I wanted.

I finally decided to go for the Lobster omelette (£20) as that's a brunch dish I can't treat myself to everyday. While Karl went for the Roast of the day. After looking at the sides I was kicking myself for not ordering crushed avocados or hand cut chips, everything on the menu is just way too tempting.

The Lobster omelette was rich, so fragrant and full of flavour, the portion may look small but it was very filling and satisfying. Although my Lobster omelette was delicious and I was pleased with my choice, I couldn't help but have a bit of food envy! Karl's roast of the day looked absolutely delicious.

The menu has such a wonderful selection it was so difficult to pick. I liked how there were dishes with a range of prices from Oysters (£3, £5 with caviar), Homemade granola (£6) and Cinnamon French toast (£10) to the Mount Street burger with smoked Applewood cheese, aioli, hand cut chips (£22). You do not find these type of prices at other Mayfair joints. (Like the majority of London restaurants, a discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to your bill.)

I would return as I feel this is somewhere I can get a decent priced brunch in the heart of W1. There is a range of dishes to satisfy any budget and hunger.

There's a Buck's Fizz station where you can order a pineapple Buck's Fizz like me or there is Grapefruit or traditional Orange. If that's not your thing, there's also a wonderful Bloody Mary station!

The brunch is now taking place every Sunday between 11am and 3pm.  The restaurant is also open for dinner and has a downstairs bar area (Bar Eight), an intimate space with a delicious cocktail menu.
